Certificate Holder

The party named on a certificate of insurance as the recipient of the document. Being listed as a certificate holder does not grant any coverage rights; it simply means the party receives notification of policy changes or cancellations as specified on the certificate. Tower clients who are only certificate holders without additional insured status have no right to defense or indemnity under the contractor's policy.
